I Feel Pretty Oh So Pretty Orange Tulip with Watercolor Texture
About the Artwork
A beautiful, single orange tulip with the words “I feel pretty, oh so pretty”. I took the flower photo at a lovely park in Spring, and hand-painted the orange, peach and pink watercolor background texture to match this particular composition.
I previously posted about a rose image with a similar feel, so this tulip one is the second in the series. While it’s shining outside right now, sometimes Winter can be quite dark and cold and gloomy. Nothing cheers me up like a bunch of tulips, or even just a single one. Looking at it right now reminds me that with every winter comes the promise of Spring.
Here’s a look at the before-and-after:
For this series I had to think up of appropriate quotes to feature as lettering. Obviously I’ve been inspired by the song that goes “I feel pretty, oh so pretty…I feel pretty and witty and gay…” from the West Side Story. Maria was wearing a simple orange and yellow dress with a pink accessory on her head when she sang the light-hearted, fun, humorous song; I thought my tulip and watercolor texture hues matched her outfit to the tee!
Makes a wonderful gift for anyone who loves floral images with a handmade touch.
