Japanese Tortoiseshell Honeycomb Lavender Orange

Japanese Tortoiseshell Honeycomb Lavender Orange

Four-petaled flowers set within a tortoise shell grid, called “kikkou” in Japanese. For the colors I picked out soft tones of lavender, orange, green, blue and ecru. I had fun drawing this traditional Japanese kimono pattern and giving it a modern color palette. Hope you like it, too! Enjoy the muted tones and honeycomb shapes. The kanji character is “kizuna”, meaning bond or the ties that bind or emotional ties.
