by It’s still Winter here but I’m already gearing up for Spring! 🙂 Today I’d like to add to the Watercolor + Digital (might as well call it “Mixed Media”) category with a rose piece.
Beautiful, dark pink roses with a hand-painted watercolor background and matching text that says “Love You”. I took the rose photo at a lovely English garden in Spring, and painted the watercolor background specifically for this composition.

I love adding hand-painted textures to photos–it gives them an entirely new dimension. I’ve been debating about which site to add them to: my photography site or this paintings site, but ended up featuring them here. My reasoning is that, unlike the textured photos in the photosite which are digital-on-digital (both the original medium and the added filter/texture are digitally generated), the ones I’ll be adding here will have the texture hand-painted and as pronounced as the photo itself.
