A colorful bouquet of red, pink and orange English roses in a mason jar, with yellow fennel flowers and green leaves. Blue and purple background. Thick, impasto brush strokes in the impressionist style. I painted the original using acrylic on canvas, 24.2 x 33.4 x 1.5 cm.
I used modeling paste to build up contours and ridges for the rose petals so there’s plenty of textury goodness to the artwork.

A bunch of pretty pink roses with green background. I took the photo at a lovely English garden bursting with the flowers of late Spring, and enhanced the image with digital oil paint, brush strokes and texture for a painterly effect.
Beautiful, light pink hybrid tea roses make up the backdrop for saucy lettering that reads “Pretty in pink, and everything else”. The words “pretty” and “everything else” have a textured, dusky pink look to them, while the word “pink” is filled with pretty little vintage polka dots. I took the flower photo at a lovely English garden in May, when the park was picture perfect with gorgeous roses blooming everywhere, and the sun bright and smiling down at the burst of prettiness. I added lettering with a hand-drawn look and feel. Perfect for a girl’s bedroom, or any place where it’s all right to be pretty in pink, and everything else!
