This pattern is a variation of hound’s tooth, in tones of purple, pink and grey. In Japan, the pattern is known as “chidorigoshi”, because it is thought to resemble a flock of chidori (plover birds). The kanji character inside the circle is “kanaderu” meaning tuneful, i.e. to play a tune or hit the notes.
