An acrylic painting of the Bird-of-Paradise flower, or crane flower. It is the Official Flower of Los Angeles City in California, USA. I love how the plant, with its fan-like crown, looks like the bird of paradise feathered creature, which has bright plumage and highly elongated and elaborate feathers. The painting is in tones of orange, yellow, violet and green.

The Bird-of-Paradise leaves look like an elongated version of the banana leaf. I love how this makes the plant look really tropical.
