About the Artwork

Bright white cherry blossoms on a bronze-hued branch, with vibrant green leaves. Some petals have fallen on the turquoise water below, causing dark gold ripples. The sakura blooms have a pink center and gold accents. Impasto paint brush strokes decorate the middle. I hand-painted this piece with acrylic on canvas board. Makes a wonderful gift for anyone who likes sakura cherry blossoms, floral art and botanical themes. Also works great as nursery art.

I used metallic bronze paint for the branches and metallic gold paint for the flower pistils. When light hits the surface the glittery effect becomes evident. I think it’s a lovely, “luxurious” way to celebrate the coming of Spring!

Inspiration: Three Ponds Park
